Who We Are
Lastenradchecker is an independent cargo bike comparison guide for the German-speaking market. We're a small team of cycling enthusiasts based in Europe, and we ride cargo bikes ourselves — to work, shopping, family duty.
We didn't build lastenradchecker because it sounded fun. We built it because the market was fragmented. There was no central source for reliable data. Manufacturer websites are marketing. Single blogs are opinion. Comparison portals are often driven by commissions.
The goal was clear: A catalog you can trust.
How the Data Works
- Manufacturer specs — weight, load capacity, motor, brakes. Direct from the source.
- Normalized comparability — consistent units and categories for fair comparison.
- Regular validation — data updates when new models launch or makers make changes.
We don't make up ratings. We provide structure and transparency — not opinion.
Why There's No "Top 5" List
There's no "best" cargo bike. There's only the best for your use case. A Riese & Müller Load isn't better than a Babboe Curve — it's different. We help you find the right choice for your situation.
Editorial Independence
We receive no commissions from makers or dealers. Our data isn't driven by affiliate links. An expensive premium bike isn't ranked higher than a cheap classic — unless the data supports it.
